Our Special Day...

We're still enjoying Las Vegas and coming down from our wicked fun (and extremely cheesy) Elvis Hawaiian vow renewal!  If you missed the live feed yesterday - I have great news!  The Elvis Chapel put it on You Tube for us.

Before you watch it, I want to point out a few of my favorite moments.  First of all, the chapel is so unassuming - as all of the chapels in Vegas are!  It's like a tiny storefront!
Elvis and the "Hula Girl" - and the staff of the Elvis Chapel were all so nice!  They all made quite a fuss over the kids, which Brian loved.  Planning the renewal was easy - and they were very accommodating!  They had a limo bring us both ways.  I'm not sure it's every day that they pick up a couple who has two car seats to install in a limousine!  The entire experience felt extravagant and fun and "once in a lifetime" - and we laughed through the whole thing.

Brian shocked me during the ceremony.  He turned into a giant ham!!  As Elvis asked Ed to repeat special (silly) vows - Brian repeated them, too!  And when Elvis asked Ed to hold my hand, Brian insisted that we ALL hold hands.  When Elvis told us to have our "first dance" - we ALL danced together.  Until Brian wanted to get down and dance with Hope - which just about made me cry.  This child is such a love.

At one point Elvis asked Brian, "Son, do you have anything you'd like to say?" as he put the microphone in front of his face.

"No thank you!" Brian replied.

If you ask Brian - THAT was his favorite part of the whole thing.

Enjoy our special day!!

We had some special moments today.  Brian and I have been sitting in front of our hotel room window a lot watching the Bellagio water show and looking across the street to the Paris Hotel.  Even Hope has been enjoying it!
Today we went outside (it was HOT!) and we all enjoyed the water show up close.
And then we walked across the street and traveled to the top of the Eiffel tower!!

Wow, were we high.  It was wild to look down on our hotel!
Tonight, Ed and Brian are out for a special "Father/Son" evening.  Ed is taking Brian to see "O" by Cirque du Soleil!  It's right here in the Bellagio and Ed and I have seen it several times over the years.  It's one of our favorite shows.  We can't wait to hear how Brian likes it!!  It's WAY past his bedtime at home, so I'm hoping he stays awake.  This is very unusual for him to be up this late - but he left so excited to have fun with his Dad!
Updated to add:  HE LOVED IT!!  He came back with all kinds of stories about the show.  They had so much fun.

Tomorrow is our last full day here - and then we'll bring the red eye back to Philadelphia.  It's been quite a trip.
