Snuggly Snow Day...

I am really lucky to have a few lactation consultants that are just an email or a phone call away - and I've already been in contact with one!  Those same few consultants taught me so much when Gavin and Brian were babies.  I'm finding that much is coming back to me, but I still worry.  Am I making enough milk?  Is she getting enough milk?  There have been no indications that Hope isn't getting enough - but to be safe I decided that today would be spent skin to skin (Kangaroo care!).  I know from my time exclusively pumping for Gavin (who couldn't breast feed successfully) that it's one great way to stimulate milk production.

Hope and I stayed in my bed - and this was my view for most of the day...
If it helped or didn't, it's one of my favorite ways to bond with my babies!  I let Hope tell me when she wanted to eat - and today, that was often.  But it turned out that it really helped clear my plugged duct!  So today was a win-win!

We would often have a visitor.  Brian would pop in to say hi and hang out and spread love and sing songs.  He came RUNNING in when the snow started falling, eager to show us out my bedroom window.
He convinced Daddy to take him out in the snow to play - and then came back with his rosy cheeks to tell Hope and me all about it.
I dressed her for a little photo shoot!  Enjoy...
Ed goes back to work tomorrow and has a very busy week ahead of him with long days and late nights.  Please send me all the positive energy (and prayers!) you can.  I'm going to need it!

  15. Brian is such a beautiful boy. It's wonderfully strange and strangely wonderful to watch the photo log of his transition from younger brother to older brother. I have more respect for your young lad than ever.
