Brian! You're two and a half today!! Happy *Half* Birthday.
What a great place to spend your half birthday - the beach! You have been having so much fun...and Mommy has seen just how independent you're becoming. Watching you walk to the beach with your Daddy brought tears to my eyes. You're such a big boy!!
You loved the sand and had your own 2 1/2 year old agenda that we were happy to follow.
The two of us climbed a HUGE mountain of sand together and declared victory at the summit before we slid down the side...
At first you were a little frightened of the ocean...
...and ran as fast as you could away from the water...
But you quickly changed your tune when you saw your brother enjoying the ocean! You became a little daredevil!!
You're changing so quickly - and growing so fast!! You wear a size 6 1/2 shoe and 2T clothes. You can line up the alphabet and numbers in order, which amazes me. You're getting more communicative, although you're still not talking in decipherable words or sentences yet. I do believe that's coming soon! You still LOVE books and can identify everything on the pages. Every night before bed you collect all of your little blanket animals and some favorite books to bring into your crib. I'm so lucky that you're great going to bed. You laugh all the way up to bed at night...and wake up smiling and ready to start the day in the morning. You really are such a joy.
It's hard for me to see you grow up!! It seems like yesterday that I was holding your tiny body in the hospital. Last night we went to the boardwalk and it was your first time going on rides by yourself! I underestimated you. I noticed there wasn't a soul on the fire trucks and asked the attendant if she could stop the ride if you freaked out or tried to jump off. She said sure...but looked at me like I was crazy. Now I know why. Check you out!!
After that - there was no stopping you. We went on just about every ride! Next stop, the Frog Ride with Daddy...
...and then the Elephant Ride with me.
You even enjoyed watching your brother go on rides - laughing every time he went by...
Next stop was your first solo Boat Ride which was a huge thrill for you...
...and then a regrettable idea for me, you and Gavin to go on a spinny balloon ride. We won't do that again!
The last ride was the cool jeep which had you laughing non stop.
I am so proud of the little guy that you are, Brian. You're such a sweet boy and such a great listener. I love when you kiss and hug me...and I hope that never goes away. You are the joy of my life and I love you so much.
