Shifting Sand...

Where to begin...

Gavin has been nothing short of inspiring on this vacation. Seeing him on the beach has brought this Mommy to tears. Although I have always believed that Gavin would do everything...I have to admit that standing with him at the water's edge was something I didn't see coming. It meant so much to me to have him standing next to me - barely holding on.

He loved sitting in the sand, too, and did such a great job sitting tall on his own.
He looked so handsome.
Ed and I kept a close eye on him...
...we were so worried about getting sand in his eyes!
While Brian whizzed around him, Gavin sat "zen-like" watching the Ocean. I so wanted to know what he was thinking...at times it seemed like the Ocean was going to put him to sleep!
Just when we thought it couldn't get any better - there was the water. This child was fearless. Ed and I took turns standing with him as the waves crashed on our legs and Gavin laughed and laughed - never losing his balance.
Listen for him laughing as the water splashes on their legs....
I can't even describe how proud I am of Gavin. Eating has been a major issue here...but he makes up for it with intense motivation to walk. We just couldn't get over his balance on that shifting sand. And, as always, we were so happy to see him enjoy the rides...
I just have this feeling that something *clicked* with our Superhero...I can't wait to see what else he has in store for us. This little boy is full of wonderful surprises...

I LOVE YOU, GAVIN!!

(Be sure to check out my earlier post that's all about Brian on his "Half Birthday!")
